OK, I see shady Stefan’s back,” Damon snarks as Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7  his brother dodges his questions. 

Let’s not pretend like this isn’t the best day of your life,” Stefan replies before heading off.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 Stefan may have acknowledged Elena’s feelings for Damon, but it doesn’t look like he wants to be around to watch her act on them.

Ever since Elena became a vampire, she’s starting walking down the mountain of sanity into the world of crazy.  Now that she’s killed a human, it looks like she’s about to reach the bottom.

She’s seeing Connor the Vampire Hunter all over Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 the place. Particularly in her dreams, where Connor seems to be strangling her, so she stabs him in the neck.  Except it turns out to be Jeremy she stabs.  In real life.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 Elena calls Damon to help her. He calls Stefan.  Elena says she doesn’t trust Stefan right now because he’s working with Klaus and protected Connor instead of Jeremy.

Klaus is not happy that Dean and Connor are morte. Caroline comes over to Tyler’s house to break up with him in front of Klaus. She’s mad because she found out about Hailey. Klaus sees the whole scene, but once he leaves, it turns out – ha ha- it was all a joke on Klaus.

Klaus stomps on over to Elena’s house. Turns out that when Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 you kill a hunter, there are consequences because of a witch’s curse. Klaus says that Elena shouldn’t be left alone.  And he’s right. When Elena takes a shower, Connor appears again. She runs out of the house and Klaus snatches her and zooms away.

They ask Bonnie if she knows how to remove the curse.  She says she doesn’t know but she’ll ask Professor Shane. Who was somehow working with Connor for reasons unknown.

Klaus says that after he killed the hunters he went a little wacky for 50 years. One day they just stopped. He has Elena in a room with no windows and locks her in.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 That’s a bad idea because Connor reappears. He tells her she’s a monster and it’s her fault her parents are dead and she should kill herself.  Then Katherine appears and tries to drive Elena crazy.

While Elena is attacking Katherine, who turns out to be the bed, April is still looking for Rebekah.   April is trying to figure out what happened to her dad.  She and Matt go to visit Professor Shane. April remembers that Prof. Shane knew her dad.

Turns out that Damon audited Prof. Shane’s class. He shows the professor a picture of Connor’s tattoo.  Shane recognizes it as the hunter mark.

Shane says that whomever kills a hunter is tormented Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 until a new hunter appears. mmm, who could that be?  Damon calls Jeremy.

FYI, Tyler isn’t sired to Klaus anymore. Caroline tells Klaus to let Elena go. He says no, she needs his help.

Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 Stefan finds out where Elena is and goes to see her. But she thinks it’s Connor and attacks him with a metal post.  She runs out the door as Stefan falls to the floor.   Elena runs to the bridge and her mom appears, trying to convince Elena to kill herself.  She decides to take off her ring and drop it in the water and die by sunlight.

In the meantime, Jeremy learns that to help Elena, he has to kill a vampire.  Jeremy says that’s no problem.

Klaus is not happy that Elena is gone. Hailey tells Klaus that he should kill her if he wants to punish someone.  Instead, Jeremy kill Chris the vampire hybrid.

Damon is at the bridge, trying to keep Elena alive as all Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 the bad dreams torment her.  Suddenly, all the hallucinations are gone as Jeremy becomes a hunter and his tattoos grow.  Damon pushes her in the water as the sunlight begins to burn.

Elena wakes in her bedroom, with Damon watching her.  She is all feely toward Damon. But Damon says that she doesn’t understand Stefan’s motives, that he’s been looking for a cure.

Tyler is feeling bad because Chris is dead. Caroline says they had no choice. Plus, she agreed to go on a date with Klaus if he gave up one of his hybrids. Tyler isn’t happy.

Damon is at a bar, drinking. Matt is Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 7 wondering why Professor Shane knows so much.  Turns out April’s father called the professor every day, and several times the day the barn blew up.

Shane tells Bonnie he knows all this stuff because he’s traveled a lot and witches are super cool. The professor says that when Jeremy completes his mark, she’s going to want to come to him for help.

Elena asks Stefan why he sent Damon to come look for her.  Stefan says Elena trusts Damon, even after everything they’ve been through and she should admit her feelings for Damon. Elena says the girl she’s become is different than the one Stefan loved on the bridge.

Elena says that since she’s become a vampire, her relationship with Damon has changed. Stefan says they’ve been magnified and she doesn’t deny it.  Stefan says he can’t do this anymore.  And the break-up music swells.

Awwh, very sad.
